LiTonya Matthews Roy Teacher of the Year Soror Roy is Mayde Creek Elementary School’s (Katy, Texas) 2002 Teacher of the Year!  She enjoys teaching mathematics, science, and social studies.  This is her fifth year of teaching.  Mrs. Roy is the PTA Teacher Representative, Third Grade Computer Technologist, and serves on Katy ISD’s Math Planning Team.  She has been the only third grade teacher chosen to work on several Texas Education Agency Educator Committees.  She makes presentations to new and existing Katy ISD teachers.  She is a Spring 1997 initiate of the Alpha Tau Chapter.   Zanovia Charmaine Chube Teacher of the Year Soror Chube was nominated and received the 2002-2003 Teacher of the Year award at Magnolia Woods Elementary, in East Baton Rouge Parish.  Zanovia was also recognized as the 2003 reciepent of The Louisiana Association of Teacher Educators (LA ATE) Distinguished Clinician Award.  She is a Spring 1997 initiate of the Alpha Tau Chapter.   Raquel LaShawn Square Teacher of the Year Soror Square is the newly elected Teacher of the Year at Brownfields Elementary Magnet School, 2003-2004.  She is a fourth grade teacher and has been teaching for two years.  Soror Square is the chairperson for the Brownfields Elementary School Improvement Team.  She is also a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honors Society and will be receiving a M.ED in Administration & Supervision in the summer of 2003.  Currently, she is a member of the Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter where she serves as recording secretary.  Soror Square is a Spring 2000 initiate of Alpha Tau.   Candice M. Dixon Gates Millennium Scholar Soror Dixon is a member of the inaugural class of Gates Millennium Scholars, a highly competitive scholarship program sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and  administered by the United Negro College Fund.  She is a Spring 2003 initiate of the Alpha Tau Chapter. < Prev   Next >
